On September 1^st, 2016 the 1977 Grad Committee for the 40^th reunion started, the first meeting was held mid-November,  it started out with approximately 15 members and finished off with 23, we as a group got along extremely well, we decided to hold it at Victoria High School, and picked August 26^th 2017 as our Date, we decided a one night only event, and put our efforts to make a night to remember, and as it turned out , It was more than a night, it exceeded all the committee’s expectations. The notices went out early March of 2017, the numbers of the Grads and guests, including former Teachers and Alumni, surpassed 180 people. We had Lorrie Allen (Collins), with her Husband Fred, all the way from New Zealand, Bill Hitchcox, and his wife Brenda,  from North Carolina, Bill Booth, from Halifax Nova Scotia, Donna Thompson, from I believe Manitoba, Leif Lassen From Yellowknife, Many from Alberta, the interior and mainland of B.C, and of course numerous grads from up Island and Victoria area.

The night started off with a social from 5-6, Dinner 6-7:30 in the concourse area, Catered by Moonlight catering, and Dancing and socializing in the Gym,with a surprise visit by Elvis,   well over 60 door prizes were donated by local businesses, we did our own bar, and hired 3 bartenders, and all proceeds were donated to the Alumni association, I believe approximately $3,100.00. Dancing in the gym –we were amazed many stayed till closing at 1:00AM, shuttle bus transportation was supplied for all.
