1955 – 55th Year Reunion, 2010

Our 55 year reunion was held on successive nights in June 9 and 10, 2010. It was very successful with a large turnout for both nights.

On Friday night, 54 grads and guests people attended a cocktail party at the Odd Fellows Hall on Douglas Street. On Saturday night, 80 people plus our special guest Tommy Mayne attended a wonderful dinner at the Gorge Vale Golf Course. There were many displays and photographs from past reunions, as well as yearbook pictures of everyone who had graduated. We had a donation jar where we collected enough money to buy two seats chairs in the Vic High Auditorium.

Out of town attendees from United States included Professor Stewart Smith from Princeton, New Jersey and Dugald Macfadyen from Foristell, Missouri. We also had grads come from Ontario, Quebec, the BC mainland, and up-island.

Dick Pomeroy, the President of our Student Council came from Vancouver to enjoy the reunion.

The Vic High ’55 class has a dinner every year on June 10 and always has a good turnout. We are known as the grad class who has the most fun.

The hard-working committee members who planned our event are: Astrid Doidge, Irene Harrison, Maureen Moffat, Brian Turner, Georgina Harrison, Bud Rutherford, Bill Ozard, Joe Moore, Marie Longpre, Cecilia Ivatts, Lorraine Perry and Audrey Howe.
